So I started school AND celebrated my birthday in a matter of 3 days! Exciting and overwhelming.
My 15th birthday was on Sunday (my golden birthday, wahoo!). My friends hosted a party for me and my twin sister the night before, and on my actual birthday we went to Noodles and Co. (Ever been there? I LOVE THIS PLACE.) Then we went out for pie. :) Mmmmm yummy. My actual day was rather boring–I spent it doing homework and getting school supplies at Target. Does anyone else love Target as much as I do? God it’s so convenient: cute clothes, food, electronics, music…all in one relatively affordable place. Love it.
For my birthday I got money, clothes, makeup, and a 16G iPod nano. I swear I’m not spoiled, it all came from various sources…My sister got a laptop, anyways. (No jealousies, hers is a toshiba while I have a glorious beauteous macbook <3)
Today was my first day of 10th grade. How was your sophomore year?
The first day is always very overwhelming. Teachers seem to exaggerate how difficult the class is and how high their expectations are. My courses seem rather hard this year…
1. Orchestra. I’m the bomb.com, basically. It’s weird how the sophomores huddle in a clump, and the upperclassmen do the same D: Weird.
2. H Precalc. It’s the first year in 3 years that I don’t have my favorite teacher in the world :( I have this crazy old woman who apparently is an awful teacher. But I probably shouldn’t get any preconceptions about her. She seemed nice enough, but very spacey and…weird. Plus Precalc is probably just a plain pain in the ass anyways!
3. Spanish III. My teacher is insane! But my class seems fun enough. I have one of my friends from my play in it, Lamby, and an ex of mine…let the fun begin. :) I like spanish. It’s a fun language.
4. European History AP. So we were welcomed with a really insanely hard quiz over the 2 chapters of dense material we had to read over the summer. Wtf. But the teacher is an old cross-country coach of mine, and he’s very cool. He looks like Moses :D Seems like an interesting class. Not to mention 50% of the class is CRAZY like me.
5. Chemistry. I am HORRIBLE at science. Seriously. I fell asleep so much during Biology last year! I’m just…not a science person. But my teacher seems very knowledgeable and will hopefully change my attitude towards science.
6. Tech Theatre/Actor’s Studio. I have Tech Theatre first semester, Actor’s the second. I love my teachers. Theatre rocks. <3
7. Honors English. My teacher seems very sweet and friendly. We get to read “In the Time of the Butterflies”, which is one of my favorite books. So excited!
