birthday pie?

So I started school AND celebrated my birthday in a matter of 3 days! Exciting and overwhelming.

My 15th birthday was on Sunday (my golden birthday, wahoo!). My friends hosted a party for me and my twin sister the night before, and on my actual birthday we went to Noodles and Co. (Ever been there? I LOVE THIS PLACE.) Then we went out for pie. :) Mmmmm yummy. My actual day was rather boring–I spent it doing homework and getting school supplies at Target. Does anyone else love Target as much as I do? God it’s so convenient: cute clothes, food, electronics, music…all in one relatively affordable place. Love it.
For my birthday I got money, clothes, makeup, and a 16G iPod nano. I swear I’m not spoiled, it all came from various sources…My sister got a laptop, anyways. (No jealousies, hers is a toshiba while I have a glorious beauteous macbook <3)

Today was my first day of 10th grade. How was your sophomore year?
The first day is always very overwhelming. Teachers seem to exaggerate how difficult the class is and how high their expectations are. My courses seem rather hard this year…

1. Orchestra. I’m the bomb.com, basically. It’s weird how the sophomores huddle in a clump, and the upperclassmen do the same D: Weird.

2. H Precalc. It’s the first year in 3 years that I don’t have my favorite teacher in the world :( I have this crazy old woman who apparently is an awful teacher. But I probably shouldn’t get any preconceptions about her. She seemed nice enough, but very spacey and…weird. Plus Precalc is probably just a plain pain in the ass anyways!

3. Spanish III. My teacher is insane! But my class seems fun enough. I have one of my friends from my play in it, Lamby, and an ex of mine…let the fun begin. :) I like spanish. It’s a fun language.

4. European History AP. So we were welcomed with a really insanely hard quiz over the 2 chapters of dense material we had to read over the summer. Wtf. But the teacher is an old cross-country coach of mine, and he’s very cool. He looks like Moses :D Seems like an interesting class. Not to mention 50% of the class is CRAZY like me.

5. Chemistry. I am HORRIBLE at science. Seriously. I fell asleep so much during Biology last year! I’m just…not a science person. But my teacher seems very knowledgeable and will hopefully change my attitude towards science.

6. Tech Theatre/Actor’s Studio. I have Tech Theatre first semester, Actor’s the second. I love my teachers. Theatre rocks. <3

7. Honors English. My teacher seems very sweet and friendly. We get to read “In the Time of the Butterflies”, which is one of my favorite books. So excited!

Run for Prez!

Run for Prez!! Video not working? Here’s a link that will hopefully fix that issue.

PS- I hate iMovie. But I love you guys. Vlogging once in a while a good idea?

Also you should enter SOTM. No motivational video yet!

PPS- You’re still allowed to comment on the blog below…I just couldn’t contain my enthusiasm for this video and decided to make a new blog.

And I Am Telling You, Here Is A Blog Post

Title- aren’t I witty? So is Jennifer Hudson. Wow I’m random today.

So I’m more or less finished with the layout!
How do you like it? Finally a theme made all by myself!
Not saying I didn’t have help… thanks Gabi! The web world is such a friendly place. It’s very nice of everyone to volunteer help to someone who obviously needed it! :P The rest of the credits will be featured on my credits page shortly!

Naturally, I haven’t quite finished the to-do list, but I do have 24 new scans and a whole new page: Backgrounds / Patterns! I kept these on the same page because they’re seamless and can easily be used for either purpose, and there’s really no point in making two separate pages, now is there? I will keep making content, I promise!

So who here hates summer homework? I think that’s kind of a rhetorical question…erg.

Some comment prompts for the lazy (I hear ya):

1. Like the layout? Any coding errors I need to check out?
2. Summer homework, or just summer productivity in general…your thoughts?

Love will always triumph hate

I will try my very hardest to stick to this theme! I really tried designing my own…but that did not work out. Then I tried one that looked like a myspace layout site (You were right, Bella!). So I just switched back to good old Lightword. I think it’s simple enough. I wish I could customize it more…maybe I’ll eventually understand WordPress.

Regardless, I will get back to your comments! So sorry I’ve been slacking off. And really insanely busy.

THE LADY GAGA CONCERT WAS PHENOMENAL. Oh my god. Words can’t even describe it. I’ll get up pictures of my friends and my outfits later. Unfortunately I didn’t take pics during the show, I was too busy dancing haha. She is so good live. I think she’s even better live honestly. The band who played before her, Semi Precious Weapons was good too. The lead singer is hilarious…he was soo sassy…and even changed his clothes (yeah, down to his willy) on stage! And he told us: “To all the mothers here, you should thank me for exposing your kids to real rock & roll!! ” So true. Gaga was so…inspirational. She talked a lot about her life, but even more about how we should love ourselves and never be afraid to be who you are. It’s amazing how philanthropic she is–she donates so much to GLBT homeless and teens.

I think it’s fate that they repealed Prop 8. No, not just fate.
It’s all Gaga’s doing.
I love you Lady Gaga.

So…I suppose I kind of forgot this was a graphic/resource site. I should probably make some content.
TO DO:

  • 2 brush sets
  • Scan all the magazines I have stockpiled
  • 2 advanced picture tutorials
  • Make the secret contest I was thinking about
  • Customize the theme more
  • Shamelessly promote my site and the SOTM contest

Hold me to this faithful readers!

Construction

Once again, please ignore the untidiness! It’s all being fixed. The old layout was driving me insane.

Enter SOTM!

I think I’ve FINALLY settled on a theme! If you haven’t been avidly checking the site, I think I’ve gone through about 6 or so of them just today. But this one fits, and I should be happy with it for a while. Hopefully :P

The quote on my layout is from A Very Potter Musical. I dunno if any of you have heard of it, but if you’re a Harry Potter fan, you must watch it! It’s so incredibly funny. I found it by listening to Potter Cast about a year ago. I spread it around school, and like to take credit for the AVPM craze! Anyways, if you like it, they just released a sequel which in my opinion, is better tech-wise, but the plot isn’t as witty and it’s not exploding with one-liners like it’s predecessor.
Oh, and I think I mentioned AVPM in my footer for a while back at Iced Cold Stuff or when I was hosted at Paper-Hearts. In case you remember :P

So I made my first contest just now! Enter my SOTM contest for some fab prizes. It’s not yo’ momma’s SOTM, however. Click and find out how it’s more engaging and motivating than most others of it’s kind. I’ll probably bump up the prizes in the future, so people will have more zeal to participate. Regardless, click it and enter!

I started string quartet camp today! In my group is my friend Allie (a cellist who was also a lonely freshman in top orchestra with me last year and who is basically my real twin) and two other girls. We’re playing this Beethoven Quartet which is pretty fun, even for a viola part. Everyone in camp gets a Beethoven quartet since this week is Beethoven themed! Which rocks because he’s my fave.
I really like the chamber music part of quartet camp, but the worst part is the orchestral segment. At the beginning of the day, we have to practice our orchestra pieces, and they’re hard and the room is hot and BLEH! It’s more fun to be in a small group and get to shine!

Anyways, this is a rather short blog since I must be up at 7:00 AM (wtf!) to work at my dad’s office. He offered to pay me minimum wage to answer phones and file and whatnot. And considering I’m not even 15 and no one else will hire me, I took it. So tomorrow’s my first day. Staying up til 11 to write this probably was not the greatest idea I’ve ever had…but anyways.

Love Today

Everyone, listen to my title. Song by Mika. <3

So this isn't the official grand-opening, but just wanted to tell you what's up!

(Honestly, the site's public, so there's really no point to a grand-opening...that's just my term for "Ali's finished with all the stuff she wanted to do".)

Anyways, I've entered in a SOTM contest, which actually slipped my mind for a little bit, so I'm pretty behind in votes. If you can vote for me here I would appreciate it so much!

I plan on adding a bunch more stuff. My goal for the new AltoAli is for it to be more interactive. More things for you guys to do!

So here’s my to-do list:
-Contests
-Add host link and SOTM button
-Customize layout/find better wp themes
-Reply to all those emails I have stockpiled
-More scans, brushes.

Anything else I should add? Any suggestions? I’ll take all into consideration.

Please nag me about getting this stuff done.
